Athletic & Personal Profile

Primary Sports:  Football

Other Sports: Basketball, Soccer

Overview

Entering his Grade 12 year, Tyler, a 3.50 student, is regarded as a leader of the Mount Douglas Rams. Offensively he will start at Quarterback and play Safety on defense.

Tyler is an exceptional athlete who can play a variety of positions but he just happens top be the best quarterback and safety at Mt Douglas. He is without doubt one of the best overall athletes we have worked with in the past ten years.

Offensively Tyler is one of the most technically proficient quarterbacks we have seen in several years in BC high school football and he is only just heading into his Junior year.  His fundamental skills are exceptional which he combines with excellent leadership skills and knowledge of the game.

He is very goal oriented and has the ability to focus on the job at hand.  He does not get rattled and has the perfect quarterback demeanor to always look for the next play.  He is self-confident without being cocky and is very coachable. He reads defenses very well and makes good decisions.  he has the ability to adjust and make thing happen.

Defensively, he anticipates well from the free safety position and is a play-maker.  He has good range and has the game speed to cover a lot of ground.  he is physical and very durable.  He can both take and make a hit.

In short, he is a player whether on offense or defense.

We expect Tyler to be in the 6' 1", 215#  range when he graduates in 2011.

Off the field Tyler continues to work hard at his studies and is involved in the Sports Leadership program in his school and he also volunteers as an assistant coach in the Atom division.

In 2009 Tyler, starting at both quarterback and safety for the Varsity, led his team to the Provincial AA Championship and was named to the AA Provincial All Star Team.

In July 2010 Tyler was selected to represent BC as a member of the Team BC U-18's which won the Bronze Medal at the Football Canada Cup and Tyler was described by the Team BC coaches as the best athlete on the team.

In 2010 the Rams will compete at the AAA level and it is Tyler's goal to once again lead the team to the Provincial Championship in this his Senior year.

After university Tyler is interested in pursuing a career in sports medicine or physiotherapy.

In our view Tyler is a  Blue Chip prospect for the CIS.
