Athletic & Personal Profile

Primary Sports:  Football

Overview

Nick is entering his Senior year at Vancouver College and will be among the Top Five offensive linemen that will graduate in June 2011.

Nick, 6' 5"- 285#, is an imposing figure on the offensive line for the Fighting Irish and will be a big factor in a young line.  As a senior he will be called upon to lead by example....a role which he relishes....and we have no doubt that he will more than meet the challenge.

Off the field Nick has an engaging personality and is equally comfortable when talking with his peers or adults.  He displays a high degree of intelligence and has a great sense of humor.

On the field he is all business.  He is highly self-motivated to be successful both individually and as a member of the team.  Team success is very important to Nick and he is a true leader both on and off the field.

Nick works constantly to improve his athletic ability and is applying that same effort to his academic studies.  He is self-disciplined and very goal-oriented.

A solid B student, Nick is committed to graduating in the 85%-90% GPA range and at present is interested in pursuing an education in architecture.

We project Nick to be in the 6’ 6”, 290# range when he graduates in 2011.

Offense (Off Line):

1. Initial Quicks: is quick coming off the ball.....has good footwork........is as fast as the DL

2. Run Block: can control the opposition at the point of attack.....has good balance and leverage

3. Pass Block: has good footwork and sets up quick....can adjust to and mirror the pass rusher..... sustains his blocks quite well

4. Pull and Trap: he can get to a moving target and can adjust in space

5. Use of Hands: gets good separation and can keep defenders off his body

6. Strength: has good lower and upper body strength and can move the pile in the run game

7. Explosion: brings his feet with him when blocking and finishes well

8. Leadership: has natural leadership ability.....leads by example

Summary:  Nick is very coachable and works extremely hard to improve his skills.  In our opinion he will develop into an outstanding offensive lineman who may play very quickly at the next level.  He is sure be one of the Top Five Offensive Linemen graduating in 2011
